In France, the extended family plays an important role dans everyday life. It includes several members in addition to the immediate family.
Les grands-parents, such as / like le grand-père et la grand-mère, often have a central role. Ils bring their wisdom et their experience à leurs petits-enfants. Les petits-enfants love spending time with them, whether it is during / at family celebrations ou des holidays.
Dans la famille élargie, there are also les oncles et les tantes. Ils sont les frères et sœurs des parents, et leurs enfants sont les cousins et les cousines. Ces family ties sont valuable, because ils strengthen connections between generations.
En France, les beaux-parents, comme le beau-père et la belle-mère, sont also considered to be part of la famille. Ils apportent souvent additional support et take part in family events.
